Motive Power
1 is an ideal product for small businesses doing mechanical service and
repair. The primary users are automotive and truck repair facilities. It is
suitable for other time and materials companies like bicycle shops,
motorcycle shops, outdoor power and equipment shops and boat repair
facilities. Motive Power 1 is available for a single management station and
any number of point-of-service tech stations.

Latest technology -
Motive Power is based on Microsoft SQL Server/MSDE technology. Microsoft
will be including more SQL technologies in future versions of the Windows
operating system.
Motive Power is available several
ways. The best way for you to run Motive Power will depend on how much support
you need and how you are set up.
I would like to try it out – Motive Power is available as a
free
download (about 67 MB) or you can order the demo CD for $10. There is a
full set of data files on the CD to help you learn the program. You can add
some of your own data to see how well it works for you. You are limited to
starting 18 new tickets. Several utility programs are also included.
I need to give it a serious
test – Motive Power can be ordered 1,000 work order numbers at a time
for $100. This is ideal for a real world test for a serious shop. Those of
you with part time or one man shops might find that 1,000 work orders is
enough for a full year of business.
I need somebody that I can
talk with both before and after the sale – Motive Power has support
available through many of the companies that support our larger GarageKeeper
program. For a one time fee of $1000 or for $100 a month for 12 months, you
can get a copy of the program that has no limit on the number of work orders
you can start. This price includes four hours of one-on-one time in the
first month to help you get things installed properly and working the way
that best fits your business. Telephone, modem, and internet support is
included for the first year.
Internet Special – The
Internet special makes Motive Power very inexpensive if you know enough
to use the Internet for all your support. For a one-time fee of $600 you get
a copy with no limit on the number of work orders you can start. Support is
available at this web site and through e-mail at no charge. If you prefer to
have one on one help available, please purchase Motive Power from one
of the support companies listed here.
